Conveo.ai is a rapidly growing Y Combinator-backed company seeking a Senior Product Engineer to join its small, impactful engineering team. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape the company's future and own the full product development lifecycle, from customer problem identification to shipping working software. You will report directly to an engineering lead and collaborate closely with the CTO. Conveo is building an AI research platform that enables fast, affordable, and high-quality consumer and B2B research, used by global brands like Unilever and Google to help companies better understand their customers.
Responsibilities
- Own the full stack, from the interface to the infrastructure.
- Lead frontend architecture in React and TypeScript, setting quality standards for components, state management, and performance.
- Design APIs, manage background jobs, and work with async workflows.
- Ship complete features end-to-end, including AI-powered features utilizing LLM APIs and prompt engineering.
- Participate in customer calls (approximately weekly) to understand needs, form product opinions, and translate feedback into scoped product decisions.
- Utilize AI for reasoning, building, reviewing, and testing throughout the development process.
- Stay current with frontier AI models and integrate them into shipped products.
- Contribute to product direction and influence how products are built.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building full-stack applications with TypeScript and Node.js.
- Strong backend experience including API design, PostgreSQL, and managing background jobs/async workflows.
- Solid frontend skills with React.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS and/or GCP), including services like S3, media pipelines, and deployment tooling.
- Experience building AI-driven applications (prompt engineering, working with LLM APIs, or fine-tuning experience are a plus).
- Ability to independently lead projects from concept to launch.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with attention to detail.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work autonomously in a small, fast-paced team.
