Confido is seeking a Senior Applied AI / ML Engineer to build the core AI systems for their platform, which serves CPG brands by managing financial operations like cash application, deductions, trade, and planning. The role involves working with a rich and complex dataset of financial documents to develop solutions across document understanding, forecasting, and agentic workflows. This is an opportunity to own AI problems end-to-end, from research and prototyping to production and evaluation, and to contribute to a rapidly growing company that has raised significant funding.
Responsibilities
- Build LLM systems to transform complex financial documents into clean, validated data.
- Design agentic workflows for retrieving and reasoning over fragmented enterprise systems, including implementing evaluation harnesses and guardrails for production.
- Develop and enhance demand forecasting models using classical time-series and gradient-boosted approaches with rolling-origin backtesting.
- Process and clean messy, real-world data, including baselining, outlier detection, entity reconciliation, and ingestion from heterogeneous sources.
- Define and implement success metrics, evaluation datasets, benchmarks, and monitoring for AI systems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of applied AI/ML experience, with a track record of taking systems to production.
- Deep expertise in at least one of the following areas: time-series/forecasting and statistical modeling; LLM and agentic systems; large-scale messy-data engineering.
- Working fluency across several of the aforementioned AI/ML areas.
- Proficiency in building evaluation and monitoring systems, understanding key metrics, and avoiding leakage and train/serve skew.
- Strong product sense, with the ability to translate AI capabilities into tangible outcomes and recognize when simpler solutions are more effective.
