Cohere is seeking a Solutions Architect for the DACH region to drive the adoption of AI within defense and security organizations. This role involves partnering with account executives and the partner ecosystem to help customers securely scale AI solutions, particularly those requiring on-premise, air-gapped, or tactical edge deployments for classified information. You will act as a trusted advisor, translating customer challenges into Cohere solutions and providing technical leadership from initial discovery through pilot deployment and business case development. Your insights will directly influence product development, ensuring Cohere's offerings meet the evolving needs of enterprise and government clients.
Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of customer problems and map them to Cohere solutions.
- Act as the trusted technical advisor, owning the technical relationship with stakeholders.
- Increase the adoption of Cohere products internally and externally.
- Gather customer insights and feedback to shape future product development.
- Lead the design and deployment of customer pilots showcasing technology impact.
- Own the customer's technical narrative end-to-end.
- Bring structured customer feedback back to Product and Engineering teams.
- Lead technical discussions on customer calls.
- Design enterprise architectures for on-prem, air-gapped, and sovereign cloud setups.
- Design for classified and disconnected environments.
- Work with customer executives to prioritize use cases and build AI adoption business cases.
- Translate defense and operational requirements into AI use cases.
- Facilitate customer evaluations and pilots within their existing technology stack.
- Own the technical response for RFPs and public tenders.
- Develop and document processes to enable scaling of the solutions architect team.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to align offerings with customer needs.
- Work with partners to develop strategies for enabling and accelerating their customers.
Requirements
- 3+ years in customer-facing technical roles (e.g., consulting data scientist, forward deployed engineer, deployment strategist, solutions architect) with experience taking AI or data solutions from problem framing to production.
- Passion for Agentic AI and practical understanding of LLM value in production.
- Solid grounding in ML fundamentals (training, evaluation, retrieval) and ability to design evaluation frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills, able to engage with both executives and technical audiences.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and establish high-impact structure and processes.
- Comfort working with Python and Assistive Coding tools.
- Experience in or with the defense sector (e.g., Bundeswehr, defense company, federal IT, NATO) and understanding of defense IT procurement.
- Eligible and willing to undergo a German security clearance (SÜG, Ü2 or higher).
- Professional fluency in English and German (C1 or higher).
