Cohere is seeking a Solutions Architect for the DACH region to drive business growth across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. This role involves partnering with account executives and the partner ecosystem to help leading enterprises and public institutions adopt AI securely and at scale. As a Solutions Architect, you will bridge the gap between Forward Deployed Engineering and AI transformation, acting as a technical expert, trusted advisor, and product evangelist. You will develop a deep understanding of customer challenges, map them to Cohere's solutions, and manage the technical relationship with stakeholders. Your expertise will increase product adoption and provide valuable customer insights to shape future product development. This dynamic role requires strategic thinking and hands-on building, including leading the design and deployment of customer pilots.
Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of customer problems and map them to Cohere solutions.
- Work closely with partners as the trusted technical advisor, owning the technical relationship with stakeholders.
- Increase the adoption of Cohere products internally and externally.
- Gather customer insights and feedback to shape future products.
- Lead the design and deployment of customer pilots showcasing technology impact.
- Own the customer's technical narrative end-to-end, from discovery and architecture to pilot results and business case.
- Bring structured customer feedback back to Product and Engineering teams.
- Lead technical discussions on customer calls.
- Design enterprise architectures for various deployment scenarios (on-prem, air-gapped, sovereign cloud) meeting German and EU requirements.
- Conduct deep dives on customer queries and Cohere technology.
- Work with customer executives to prioritize use cases, define success metrics, and build business cases for AI adoption.
- Facilitate customer evaluations and pilots within their existing technology stack.
- Own the technical response of RFPs and public tenders, including security questionnaires and requirement mapping.
- Develop and document processes to enable scaling for the solutions architect team and adjacent teams.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure offerings meet customer needs.
- Work with partners (system integrators, consultancies, sovereign cloud providers) to develop strategies for enabling and accelerating their customers.
Requirements
- 3+ years in customer-facing technical roles (e.g., consulting data scientist, forward deployed engineer, deployment strategist, solutions architect) with experience taking AI or data solutions from problem framing to production.
- Passion for Agentic AI and practical understanding of LLM value and limitations in production.
- Solid grounding in ML fundamentals (training, evaluation, retrieval) and ability to design evaluation frameworks for customer pilots.
- Excellent communication skills, able to engage with both executives and technical audiences.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and establish high-impact structure and processes.
- Comfort working with Python and Assistive Coding tools.
- Professional fluency in English and German (C1 or higher).
- Experience in the German market (e.g., at a system integrator or consultancy, or working on RFPs and public tenders) is a bonus.
