Cohere is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a focus on security to join their North team. This role involves owning and shipping production security features for AI agents, rather than just reviewing them. You will play a key part in building and securing the North architecture, contributing to the core development of security features and ensuring AI agents are secure by design.
Responsibilities
- Develop core security features like OIDC/OAuth flows and session management.
- Write secure code for handling OIDC tokens, user claims, and sensitive data, including JWT validation and encryption.
- Implement authentication mechanisms for user login, token management, and authorization.
- Integrate new tools to enhance security capabilities.
- Design and implement secret management within Kubernetes clusters, including encryption and RBAC.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate security best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building user-facing security features in production systems.
- Proficient in shipping production Python code.
- Deep understanding of OIDC/OAuth 2.0, JWT validation, and token lifecycle management.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in development and production environments.
- Experience with GCP, AWS, Azure, or hybrid/multi-cloud deployments.
- Comfortable working across the full stack.
- Ability to clearly communicate security concepts to non-security engineers and stakeholders.
- Experience working with AI/ML systems or LLM-based applications.
