Cohere is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join their Agentic Platform team. This role focuses on bridging Cohere's North AI workspace platform with enterprise clients, solving complex problems and securely integrating AI into critical sectors. You will be responsible for the design, build, and deployment of agentic workflows powered by LLMs, transforming ambiguous business problems into production-grade AI agents that deliver concrete business value. The work involves close collaboration with customers to build first-of-their-kind agent workflows that integrate LLMs with tools, APIs, and data sources, ensuring reliability, observability, safety, and auditability.
Responsibilities
- Translate high-value business problems into well-framed agentic workflows with clear success criteria.
- Lead the design, build, and delivery of LLM-powered agents that reason, plan, and act across tools, APIs, and enterprise data.
- Build and ship features for the North AI workspace platform across the full product lifecycle.
- Own the scoping and shaping of use cases end-to-end, adapting to necessary technical areas.
- Contribute to shared frameworks and patterns for consistent, high-quality delivery.
- Drive clarity in ambiguous situations and build alignment across the organization.
- Travel up to 20-40% to work on-site with customers and partners.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience building and deploying production-grade software in Python with clean, testable, observable, scalable code.
- Experience building and deploying highly performant RAG and agentic applications, including multi-step task execution patterns.
- Deep familiarity with the LLM stack: frontier models, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks.
- Proven ability to build robust evaluation frameworks to measure agent accuracy, safety, and latency.
- Experience working directly with customers and leading technical discussions with enterprise stakeholders.
- Experience owning the full scope of a use case end-to-end.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced and ambiguous environments with shifting priorities.
