This role acts as a bridge between Cohere's North AI workspace platform and enterprise clients, focusing on solving complex problems and securely integrating AI into critical sectors. The engineer will be responsible for the design, build, and deployment of agentic workflows powered by Large Language Models (LLMs), from prototype to production, ensuring reliability, observability, safety, and auditability. This position involves working directly with customers on real-world business problems, often building novel agent workflows that integrate LLMs with tools, APIs, and data sources.
Responsibilities

- Lead the design, build, and delivery of LLM-powered agents that reason, plan, and act across tools, APIs, and enterprise data sources.
- Build and ship features for the North AI workspace platform throughout the product lifecycle.
- Own the scoping and shaping of use cases end-to-end, adapting to various technical areas as needed.
- Contribute to shared frameworks and patterns for consistent, high-quality delivery.
- Drive clarity in ambiguous situations and improve engineering quality across the organization.
- Travel up to 20-40% to work on-site with customers and partners.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience building and deploying production-grade software in Python with clean, testable, observable, and scalable code.
- Experience building and deploying highly performant RAG and agentic applications, including agents using patterns like ReAct or Plan-and-Execute.
- Deep familiarity with the LLM stack, including frontier models, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks.
- Proven ability to build robust evaluation frameworks to measure agent accuracy, safety, and latency.
- Experience working directly with customers and leading technical discussions with enterprise stakeholders.
- Experience owning the full scope of a use case end-to-end.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced and ambiguous environments with shifting priorities.
Benefits
- Weekly lunch stipend of $75/£75 or equivalent.
- Full health and dental benefits, including a mental health budget.
- RRSP matching, 401K, Pension Scheme.
- 100% Parental Leave top-up for up to 6 months.
- Annual enrichment benefits (Arts & culture, fitness/wellness, quality time, workspace improvement).
- Education & learning stipend for conferences, courses, and coaching.
- 6 weeks (30 working days) of paid vacation.
- Budget for traveling to other offices.
- Annual company offsite.
- Co-working benefit for remote employees not near an office.
