About the job
Cohere is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer for its Agentic Platform team. This role acts as a crucial bridge between Cohere's North AI workspace platform and enterprise clients' engineering teams. You will be instrumental in solving complex problems and securely integrating AI into critical sectors by owning the design, build, and deployment of agentic workflows powered by Large Language Models (LLMs). The work involves transforming ambiguous business problems into well-defined AI agent workflows, ensuring reliability, observability, safety, and auditability from the outset, and delivering concrete business value in enterprise environments.
Responsibilities
- Translate high-value, ambiguous business problems into well-framed agentic workflows with clear success criteria.
- Lead the design, build, and delivery of LLM-powered agents that reason, plan, and act across tools, APIs, and sensitive enterprise data sources.
- Build and ship features for the North AI workspace platform across the full product lifecycle.
- Own the scoping and shaping of use cases end-to-end, adapting to various technical areas as needed.
- Contribute to shared frameworks and patterns for consistent, high-quality delivery.
- Drive clarity in ambiguous situations and build alignment across teams.
- Travel up to 20-40% to work on-site with customers and partners.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience building and deploying production-grade software in Python with clean, testable, observable, scalable code.
- Experience building and deploying highly performant RAG and agentic applications, including agents using patterns like ReAct or Plan-and-Execute.
- Deep familiarity with the LLM stack: frontier models, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks.
- Proven ability to build robust evaluation frameworks to measure agent accuracy, safety, and latency.
- Experience working directly with customers and leading technical discussions with enterprise stakeholders.
- Experience owning the full scope of a use case end-to-end.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced and ambiguous environments with shifting priorities.
Benefits
- Weekly lunch stipend of $75/£75 or equivalent.
- Full health and dental benefits, including a mental health budget.
- RRSP matching, 401K, Pension Scheme.
- 100% Parental Leave top-up for up to 6 months.
- Annual enrichment benefits (Arts & culture, fitness/wellness, quality time, workspace improvement).
- Education & learning stipend for conferences, courses, and coaching.
- 6 weeks of paid vacation (30 working days).
- Budget for traveling to other offices if remote.
- Annual company offsite.
- Co-working benefit for those not near an office.
- $500 home office stipend.
