Cohere is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead their North American Deployment Engineering team. This role requires a technically sharp, hands-on leader who excels in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is focused on driving impact. You will manage a team of Forward Deployed Engineers, focusing on building agentic solutions using Cohere's North platform, particularly in on-premises environments. The position involves solving complex problems and integrating AI into critical sectors like finance, healthcare, and telecommunications, while balancing technical excellence with effective team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of Forward Deployed Engineers focused on building agentic solutions with North in on-premises environments.
- Take ownership of customer success from technical implementation through delivery.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Sales to shape AI delivery to enterprises.
- Build relationships with technical stakeholders on the customer end.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, focusing on bringing agentic solutions to every step of the development process.
- Define and implement processes that scale agent development and deployment across multiple client environments.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
- 2+ years of experience managing software engineering teams.
- Experience managing engineers in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying enterprise software at scale, with a focus on agentic applications.
- High agency and a doer mentality; ability to solve problems proactively and execute in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to translate technical concepts for both technical and business audiences.
