Cohere is seeking a Data Scientist to join our Analytics and Data Insights team. In this role, you will tackle complex, open-ended problems that shape product and company strategy. You will design and execute experiments, build predictive models, and develop analytics that drive product decisions and demonstrate value to enterprise customers. This position offers the opportunity to own analytical work end-to-end, from framing questions to shipping actionable insights and tools that are relied upon by product leaders, sales teams, and customers.
Responsibilities
- Build agentic analytics tools to bring clarity to real-world data.
- Define and own the analytics story for AI adoption, growth, and impact.
- Ship customer-facing analytics that demonstrate product value.
- Build small language models for data categorization, classification, and enrichment.
- Design and run experiments, including A/B tests and causal inference studies.
- Develop and deploy predictive models for forecasting, segmentation, and propensity scoring.
- Define analytical priorities and drive initiatives from question to production.
Requirements
- Strong command of SQL, Python, and Git.
- Expertise in statistical inference, experimental design, and predictive modeling.
- Proven ability to translate ambiguous business questions into rigorous analytical problems with clear recommendations.
- Experience building and deploying production models.
- Familiarity with modern data stack tools like BigQuery, dbt, Looker, or Airflow is a plus.
- Genuine excitement about AI and staying current with research.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and managing multiple workstreams.
- Ability to distill insights into concise, actionable narratives.
- Collaborative style grounded in empathy and data.
