We are seeking a Data Annotation Specialist with exceptional Japanese writing, translation, and data manipulation skills to join us. In this role, you will be instrumental in improving Large Language Model performance by labeling, ranking, auditing, and correcting text output, thereby having a lasting impact on our technology. This is a part-time independent contractor position requiring a minimum commitment of 16 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Label and rank machine learning data with advanced proficiency in Japanese, ensuring data integrity and quality.
- Audit and rectify inaccuracies in language data, including text, image, JSON, TSV/CSV, and Markdown.
- Efficiently complete reading and text-based assignments with high attention to detail.
- Evaluate and complete preference-based tasks, assessing Japanese responses against project guidelines.
- Identify and suggest opportunities for improving data quality and model performance in Japanese language tasks.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively, providing feedback to cross-functional team members on Japanese language matters.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail while performing repetitive and precise tasks with language data.
Requirements
- Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese; excellent command over English.
- Expert reading and writing skills in Japanese, to be proven on a written test.
- Basic familiarity with JSON/TSV/CSV/Markdown data manipulation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- High tolerance for repetitive and monotonous work.
- Ability to follow complex instructions, navigate ambiguity, and work independently.
- Superb sense of urgency and time management.
- Curiosity about technology and a knack for tackling problems creatively.
- A reliable laptop (BYOD).
