We are building AI systems to power magical experiences like content generation, semantic search, RAG, and agents. Data quality is foundational to this process, and as a Data Annotation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in improving Large Language Model performance by labeling, ranking, auditing, and correcting text output. This part-time independent contractor position requires exceptional Modern Standard German Writing, Translation, and Data Manipulation skills, with a commitment of 16 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Label and rank machine learning data with advanced proficiency in German, ensuring data integrity and quality.
- Audit and rectify inaccuracies in language data, including text, image, JSON, TSV/CSV, and Markdown.
- Complete reading and text-based assignments with high attention to detail.
- Evaluate and complete preference-based tasks, assessing which responses in German best conform to project guidelines.
- Identify and suggest opportunities for improving data quality and model performance in German language tasks.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively, providing feedback to cross-functional team members on German language-related matters.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail while performing repetitive and precise tasks, particularly with language data.
Requirements
- Native or near-native proficiency in German; excellent command over English.
- Expert reading and writing skills.
- Basic familiarity with JSON/TSV/CSV/Markdown data manipulation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- High tolerance for repetitive and monotonous work.
- Ability to follow complex instructions, navigate ambiguity, and work independently.
- Superb sense of urgency and time management.
- Curiosity about technology and a knack for tackling problems creatively.
- A reliable laptop (Bring Your Own Device).
