We are an applied AI lab building end-to-end software agents, and we're the makers of Devin, the first AI software engineer. Our team is extremely talent-dense, with founders from leading AI companies. We are looking for engineers who can own the full product experience, make product decisions, and push through technical challenges to ship high-quality, delightful experiences for developers. This role is for individuals who can identify and close the gap between what exists and what should exist in AI-powered developer tools.
Responsibilities
- Own features end-to-end, from coding to user conversations, and use feedback to shape future development.
- Craft fast, focused, and effortless interfaces across IDE, web, and CLI surfaces.
- Define interaction patterns for developers working with AI agents, establishing new conventions.
- Build the core agent loop, tool use, and harness for reliable operation across real-world tasks.
- Solve challenging engineering problems independently to create superior developer experiences.
- Ship across IDE, web, and CLI products, maintaining a high quality bar while context-switching.
Requirements
- Strong full-stack engineering skills with a keen eye for product quality.
- Deep understanding of developer workflows and what constitutes delightful tooling.
- Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, and React within complex, production-grade products.
- Ability to make sound product decisions independently.
- Obsession with UX details, including micro-interactions, transitions, and response times.
- Experience building developer tools, IDEs, or technical products for engineers is a strong plus.
- Prior experience in a frontier AI lab, applied AI company, or developer tools company is beneficial.
- BS, MS, or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline from a highly selective program.
