Applied AI Engineers at Cognition are responsible for operationalizing AI modernization at the enterprise level, focusing on deploying AI solutions like Devin to drive measurable productivity gains. This role involves embedding with engineering teams, integrating agentic workflows, and leading customer engagements to ensure successful adoption. As one of the early members of the Applied AI team, you will also play a crucial role in shaping the function by developing repeatable playbooks, digital learning content, and enablement models to scale Cognition's impact globally. The ideal candidate possesses strong engineering fundamentals, enjoys customer interaction, and is driven by helping users unlock their potential with AI, while also thinking strategically about scaling these successes.
Responsibilities
- Embed with enterprise engineering teams to drive deep adoption of Devin, owning outcomes.
- Architect and implement agentic workflows across engineering, QA, support, data, and product.
- Lead interactive programs for enterprise engineering teams, including workshops and pair programming.
- Guide customers through installing, configuring, and optimizing Devin and associated tools.
- Pair-program on live production problems to demonstrate high-value usage patterns.
- Quantify impact by tracking productivity metrics and surfacing ROI stories.
- Work with leadership to scale field learnings into structured playbooks and best practices.
- Create enablement materials and shared playbooks based on customer learnings.
Requirements
- Degree in a STEM field or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 3+ years as a software engineer, technical consultant, deployment strategist, forward deployed engineer, solutions engineer, or similar role.
- Strong coding proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical topics to diverse audiences.
- Proven track record of driving technical adoption and measurable impact within engineering organizations.
- Strong commercial instincts and understanding of account growth.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt exceptionally fast.
