Cognition is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to operationalize AI modernization at the enterprise level, focusing on deploying and integrating AI agents like Devin into engineering workflows. This role involves embedding with customer teams to drive adoption, architecting agentic workflows, and leading interactive programs to demonstrate value and accelerate AI fluency. The ideal candidate will have strong engineering fundamentals, enjoy customer interaction, and be driven by user success and systematic scaling of learnings. As one of the first Applied AI Engineers, you will also play a key role in shaping the function by developing repeatable playbooks and enablement models.
Responsibilities
- Embed with enterprise engineering teams to drive adoption of Devin, owning outcomes.
- Architect and implement agentic workflows across engineering, QA, support, data, and product.
- Lead interactive programs for enterprise engineering teams, including workshops and pair programming.
- Guide customers through installing, configuring, and optimizing Devin and associated tools.
- Pair-program on live production problems to demonstrate high-value usage patterns.
- Quantify impact by tracking productivity metrics and surfacing ROI stories.
- Work with leadership to scale field learnings into structured playbooks and best practices.
- Create enablement materials and shared playbooks based on customer learnings.
Requirements
- Degree in a STEM field or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 3+ years as a software engineer, technical consultant, deployment strategist, forward deployed engineer, solutions engineer, or similar role.
- Strong coding proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical topics to diverse audiences.
- Proven track record of driving technical adoption and measurable impact within engineering organizations.
- Strong commercial instincts and understanding of account growth.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt exceptionally fast.
