Cloudforce One is Cloudflare’s threat operations and research team, focused on identifying and disrupting cyber threats, from criminal activity to nation-state sponsored APTs. The team collaborates with external organizations and internal Cloudflare teams to develop operational tradecraft and expand threat intelligence sources for expedited threat hunting and remediation. Leveraging data from one of the world’s largest global networks, team members analyze unique data points at scale to synthesize actionable threat intelligence and protect customers.
As a Software Engineer on this team, you will manage the full software development lifecycle for systems supporting threat disruption and legal response. This involves translating complex legal and security requirements into robust, scalable, and high-performance applications that enhance internet safety and power.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, run, and scale distributed tools and services for cyber threat disruption and platform abuse.
- Develop data pipelines and services to collect, analyze, and expose threat intelligence data, identifying TTPs and IOCs.
- Collaborate with Threat Intelligence, Trust & Safety, Legal, and Product teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
- Improve system design and architecture for stability, performance, and maintainability of compliance and security services.
- Analyze and communicate complex technical concepts across teams.
- Monitor and maintain production services, including on-call rotations.
- Mentor other developers, promoting best practices for well-tested, modular code.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building large-scale software applications, preferably distributed systems.
- At least 3 years of experience working with Threat Intelligence or supporting a Threat Intelligence platform.
- Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and/or gRPC services.
- Knowledge of SQL and relational database systems like PostgreSQL.
- Prior experience writing production-ready code in Go and/or Typescript.
- Familiarity with Rust.
- Excellent debugging and optimization skills.
- Expertise in writing well-tested code.
- Interest in technical mentorship.
