We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Agentic Commerce team, focusing on building the infrastructure that powers machine-to-machine commerce. This role involves defining architecture, developing core systems, and setting technical standards for payments, metering, and monetization across Cloudflare's network. You will collaborate with customers, product managers, and other engineering teams to shape product roadmaps, write architectural specifications, and build systems that simplify complexity for others. As a technical leader, you will also mentor engineers, define product KPIs, and lead complex incident responses.
Responsibilities
- Design and build resilient, low-latency systems and core architectures for payable web resources using emerging agentic protocols (x402, WBA, ACP, UCP).
- Write technical specifications (RFCs) and architecture designs for internal and external development teams.
- Collaborate with customers and Product Management to define requirements, KPIs, and translate business needs into scalable architectural solutions.
- Architect services to reduce code complexity, ensure system resilience, and improve observability.
- Lead complex incident responses, retrospectives, and root-cause analyses to prevent escalations and reduce alerts.
- Debug and resolve high-complexity issues across multiple teams and services, mentoring others in the process.
- Mentor engineers, improve engineering and interviewing processes, conduct code reviews, and share knowledge through technical talks and writings.
