Cloudflare is seeking builders to join their mission of improving the Internet. This role focuses on enhancing network resilience and reducing operational toil within Cloudflare's global network. You will be responsible for the technical operation and engineering of the core data center network, including planning, installation, and management. The position involves building tools to automate operational tasks, streamline deployments, and provide a platform for other engineering teams, with a strong emphasis on an "automate everything" approach to create failure-resistant and scalable systems. You will also play a key role in system design, bringing ideas from conception to production.
Responsibilities
- Build software solutions to improve network resilience and reduce operational toil.
- Manage the technical operation and engineering of Cloudflare's core data center network.
- Plan, install, and manage network hardware and software.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the core network supporting critical internal needs.
- Build tools to automate operational tasks and streamline deployment processes.
- Develop a platform for other engineering teams to build upon.
- Implement an "automate everything" approach to make systems failure-resistant and scalable.
- Contribute to system design and bring ideas from design to production.
Requirements
- 3 years of relevant Network/Site Reliability Engineering experience.
- BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Solid foundation in configuration management frameworks (Saltstack, Ansible, Chef).
- Experience with network operating systems (NX-OS, JUNOS, EOS, Cumulus, or Sonic).
- Ability to leverage LLMs for building agentic deployment and troubleshooting tools, automating configurations, parsing log files, and streamlining documentation.
- Solid Linux systems administration experience.
- Experience with Linux networking tools (iproute2, Traffic Control, Devlink).
- Strong software development skills in Go and Python.
