Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Threat Application Services (TAS) team within Cloudforce One. This team is responsible for building and scaling the Cloudforce One Threat Events platform, external Threat Intel APIs, and backend systems that integrate Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) for automated mitigation. The role involves leading hiring efforts to expand engineering capabilities and build the next generation of agentic threat intelligence tools. You will be responsible for the architectural direction and operational excellence of your team's services, ensuring platforms meet latency and reliability requirements for enterprise security operations. You will also drive the professional development of your direct reports and collaborate with product managers and security researchers to transform complex threat data into automated customer experiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural direction and operational excellence of team-owned services.
- Ensure intelligence platforms meet latency and reliability requirements for Enterprise security operations.
- Drive the professional development of direct reports.
- Collaborate with product managers and security researchers to create automated customer experiences from threat data.
- Lead hiring efforts to expand engineering capabilities.
- Build and scale the Cloudforce One Threat Events platform.
- Develop external Threat Intel APIs.
- Build backend systems that integrate Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) into products like WAF and Gateway for automated mitigation.
- Manage technical debt.
- Plan and execute to deliver predictable, world-class products.
Requirements
- Experience with AI-assisted development and agentic AI workflows.
- Experience building high-performance APIs or platforms for threat intelligence, security operations, or large-scale data analytics.
- 8+ years of Software Development experience, with a focus on Go, JavaScript, or distributed systems.
- Over 8 years of experience leading high-performing engineering teams.
- Proven ability to manage technical debt, drive professional development through mentorship, and excel at planning and execution.
- Understanding of the Cyber Kill Chain and how to automate IOC ingestion and distribution.
- Experience with edge computing (e.g., Workers), SQL-at-the-edge (D1/SQLite), and building systems that scale to handle trillions of signals.
- Strong mentorship and coaching skills.
