At Cloudflare, we are evolving how we partner with enterprise customers as their architectural complexity scales. As a Customer Engineer (CE), you will be the primary driver of our technical go-to-market strategy, acting as a trusted advisor who manages the technical relationship from initial discovery through long-term adoption and account expansion. You will operate as a quota-carrying technologist, leveraging AI-augmented workflows to automate administrative tasks, allowing you to focus on high-value architectural design and driving measurable business outcomes throughout the customer journey.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery, build custom architectures, and deliver product demonstrations and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) across Cloudflare's portfolio.
- Oversee technical onboarding and implementation, serving as the main engineering contact for the customer.
- Monitor customer health scores and telemetry to ensure rapid time-to-value and resolve integration issues.
- Carry a quota for new business acquisition and account growth, ensuring deep platform adoption and identifying cross-sell/up-sell opportunities.
- Lead technical Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to demonstrate ROI to C-level executives.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the entire customer lifecycle, maintaining deep relationships with key stakeholders.
- Utilize AI agents and internal platforms to automate routine tasks like RFP responses and sandbox provisioning.
Requirements
- Experience in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Sales Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineer).
- Broad technical expertise in web security, networking (routing, DNS, DDoS mitigation), cloud infrastructure, and enterprise architecture.
- Proven track record in a quota-carrying or revenue-aligned environment, with understanding of SaaS metrics and enterprise sales cycles.
- Exceptional presentation and stakeholder management skills, capable of communicating technical details to C-suite executives.
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar scripting languages.
- Experience with prompt engineering, Large Language Model (LLM) orchestration, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Cloudflare's developer platform and AI ecosystem (Workers AI, AI Gateway, Vectorize) is a plus.
