At Cloudflare, we are evolving how we partner with enterprise customers as their architectural complexity scales. The Customer Engineer (CE) is a key driver of our technical go-to-market strategy, acting as a trusted advisor who manages the technical relationship from initial discovery through long-term adoption and account expansion. You will be a quota-carrying technologist within the GTM organization, leveraging AI-augmented workflows to automate administrative tasks and focus on high-value architectural design and driving measurable business outcomes across the customer journey.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery, build architectures, and deliver product demonstrations and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) across Cloudflare's portfolio.
- Oversee technical onboarding and implementation, serving as the primary engineering contact for customers.
- Monitor customer health scores and telemetry to ensure rapid time-to-value and resolve integration bottlenecks.
- Carry a quota tied to new business acquisition and account growth, ensuring deep platform adoption and identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
- Lead technical Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to demonstrate ROI to C-level executives.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the customer lifecycle, maintaining deep relationships with stakeholders.
- Leverage AI agents and internal platforms to automate routine tasks like RFP responses and sandbox provisioning.
Requirements
- Experience in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Sales Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineer).
- Broad technical expertise in web security, networking (routing, DNS, DDoS mitigation), cloud infrastructure, and enterprise architecture.
- Proven track record in a quota-carrying or revenue-aligned environment.
- Strong understanding of SaaS metrics, business value translation, and enterprise sales cycles.
- Exceptional presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to bridge deep technical details with high-level business strategy.
