Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Customer Engineer specializing in AI & Start-Ups to join their team in San Francisco. This role involves working with innovative, cloud-native companies and their technical decision-makers, including CTOs, to help them leverage the Cloudflare Developer Platform for their AI initiatives. You will be a technologist who enjoys collaborating with builders, comfortable discussing architecture with lead developers and strategic roadmaps with CTOs. While not a daily coding role, your superpower lies in technical discovery, translation, and evangelism, inspiring teams to build on Cloudflare. You will be instrumental in driving the adoption of Cloudflare's comprehensive developer platform, including Workers, Durable Objects, Workers AI, R2, KV, D1, Vectorize, Queues, and Pages, for both new customer acquisition and expansion.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery within the cloud-developer vertical to understand customer needs and identify opportunities for Cloudflare integration.
- Engage early in the sales cycle, joining discovery calls and embedding with customer teams to qualify opportunities.
- Map customer initiatives, particularly in new product development and AI, to the Cloudflare platform.
- Build relationships with technical champions within customer accounts, from engineers to CTOs.
- Develop and present tailored technical content and demos for diverse audiences, from developers to senior leadership.
- Own the technical sales of the Cloudflare solution portfolio, ensuring business value and fit-for-purpose design.
- Evangelize the Cloudflare Developer Platform as a foundation for customers' next products and AI initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience in a pre-sales or other technical customer-facing role.
- Ability to engage directly with engineering teams and technical founders.
- Fluency in speaking the language of engineers and holding credible technical conversations.
- Deep understanding of the Cloudflare Developer Platform, including Workers, Durable Objects, Workers AI, R2, KV, D1, Vectorize, Queues, and Pages.
- Experience in technical discovery, translation, and evangelism.
- Ability to thrive in an agile, fast-moving environment.
- Strong mix of pre-sales/technical customer-facing experience.
- Builder personality.
