Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Customer Engineer specializing in AI and Start-Ups to join their team in Los Angeles. This role involves working with innovative, cloud-native companies and their technical leaders to integrate Cloudflare's Developer Platform into their products and AI initiatives. You will be a technical evangelist, comfortable engaging with developers, architects, and CTOs, translating customer needs into solutions using Cloudflare's offerings like Workers, Durable Objects, Workers AI, R2, and Vectorize. This is a pre-sales role focused on technical discovery, solution design, and driving adoption within the digital-native segment, requiring a builder's mindset and a strong understanding of modern web development and AI trends.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery within the cloud-developer vertical to understand customer needs and identify opportunities for Cloudflare.
- Engage early and continuously with customer teams, including sales-led discovery calls and embedding within customer Slack channels and working sessions.
- Map customer initiatives and business problems, particularly in new product development and AI, to the Cloudflare platform.
- Build relationships and technical champions within customer accounts, from engineers to CTOs.
- Develop and present tailored technical content and demos for diverse technical audiences.
- Own the technical sales of the Cloudflare solution portfolio, ensuring business value, fit-for-purpose design, and adoption roadmaps.
Requirements
- Experience in a pre-sales or other technical customer-facing role.
- Comfort engaging directly with engineering teams and technical founders.
- Ability to speak the language of engineers fluently and hold detailed technical conversations.
- Strong understanding of the Cloudflare Developer Platform (Workers, Durable Objects, Workers AI, R2, KV, D1, Vectorize, Queues, Pages) and the broader developer ecosystem.
- Experience with modern web development and AI initiatives.
- Builder personality with a strong mix of pre-sales/technical customer-facing experience.
- Ability to thrive in an agile, fast-moving environment.
