Cloudflare is seeking a Product Manager to lead the "Safe Change" initiative for its control plane. This role involves defining how customers manage configuration changes, ensuring they are safe, reliable, and predictable at scale. You will shape platform foundations that empower internal teams to deploy changes with greater confidence, stronger guardrails, and reduced operational risk. The control plane translates dashboard and API changes into global network configurations, and this role will address enterprise customer expectations for robust change-management features like deployment previews, gradual rollouts, versioning, and auditability. You will own a high-leverage product domain encompassing distributed systems, reliability, developer experience, and enterprise governance, collaborating closely with engineering and product leaders across the platform to turn proven deployment safety patterns into reusable platform primitives.
Responsibilities
- Represent and champion the customer (internal or external) by building strong relationships and bringing their voice into the creation process.
- Develop and evangelize a product vision for the area, ensuring scalability for future customer growth.
- Make data-driven roadmap and prioritization decisions, building trust through clear data presentation.
- Define, track, and interpret product success measures, translating them into actionable insights and new hypotheses.
- Author use cases and translate customer feedback into a prioritized product backlog with detailed requirements.
- Collaborate across teams to create alignment between engineering and stakeholders, fostering a team-oriented approach.
Requirements
- 4+ years of product management experience.
- Domain expertise in making data-driven deployment decisions, with experience as an architect or product owner in safe change or related technologies.
- Distributed systems experience to drive scaling strategies for deployments.
- Customer-focused, data-driven, and methodical approach.
- Ability to thrive in a goal-oriented and data-driven environment.
- Deep technical understanding of the observability space.
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work with diverse groups, achieve consensus, and drive product forward.
- Execution-focused with attention to detail.
- Passion for building scalable frameworks that maximize data utilization.
