Cloudflare is seeking builders to join its Emerging Technologies & Incubation (ETI) team, a group focused on developing and launching new, bold products. The team leverages Cloudflare's extensive network to solve problems at massive scale and efficiency. This role specifically focuses on owning Browser Run, a product that runs full browser sessions on Cloudflare's global network, enabling developers to interact with the web via code or AI agents. Browser Run provides a Chrome DevTools Protocol endpoint, Workers bindings, and a REST API for tasks like screenshots, PDFs, and scraping. It also includes features for session recording, live debugging, and human intervention for stuck agents. The product is experiencing rapid growth and is a key component of the Cloudflare Developer Platform, aiming to simplify agent interaction with the web while maintaining performance, scalability, and security.
Responsibilities
- Manage, coach, and grow the engineering team responsible for Browser Run, including conducting 1:1s, supporting career development, managing performance, and hiring.
- Own the Browser Run product engineering end-to-end, encompassing people management, roadmap development, reliability, and customer communication.
- Partner closely with Product Management, Developer Relations, and other platform teams.
- Understand the codebase sufficiently to review design documents, challenge architectures, and assess estimates.
- Ensure the sustainability of a rapid development pace for product evolution.
Requirements
- Experience in a hands-on engineering management role.
- Familiarity with systems engineering principles.
- Ability to understand and critically evaluate technical designs and architectures.
- Experience with AI-native curiosity and building solutions with modern tools.
- Experience with products that have a steep growth curve, involving capacity, latency, concurrency, and abuse protection.
