Cinder is building critical infrastructure to combat online abuse, fraud, and manipulation, which are exacerbated by AI. Our platform empowers large internet companies to manage content policies, deploy AI agents for real-time abuse detection, investigate threats, and report harmful content. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the core infrastructure that supports major online communities, with significant influence on architecture, product direction, and engineering culture. You will be instrumental in developing solutions for complex problems like state-sponsored disinformation and CSAM reporting, working on an early-stage product with established enterprise customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop AI agents for content review integrated with a durable workflow engine, moving towards configurable agent specifications.
- Build and extend a workflow engine using Restate for durable execution of moderation pipelines and enforcement actions.
- Enhance review queue tooling for moderators and investigators, including features like QA overrides, attribute labeling, and skills-based routing.
- Create analytics and metrics dashboards using a React frontend and Django/GraphQL API to monitor program performance.
- Integrate systems for two-way user communications, connecting with platforms like Salesforce and Zendesk.
- Improve reliability and throughput of systems processing high volumes of content, defining SLIs and owning oncall responsibilities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production software across the full stack (e.g., Django, React, relational databases, message/event systems).
- Proven ability to identify customer problems and build end-to-end solutions independently.
- Experience with high-throughput, data-intensive systems, understanding pipeline throughput and latency tradeoffs.
- Proficiency and strong opinions on using AI tooling in software development.
- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of features, from data model to API to UI.
- Clear written communication skills for PRs, internal communication, and documentation.
