Cartesia is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join their mission of building real-time multimodal intelligence. This role involves embedding directly with enterprise customers to deliver agentic voice AI solutions into their production environments. The Forward Deployed Engineer will be responsible for maximizing customer success and revenue by transforming Cartesia's core product into deployed, high-impact solutions. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI models and experiences, with a focus on innovation and rapid execution.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy voice AI systems for enterprise workflows.
- Lead end-to-end deployments, including discovery, architecture, implementation, and rollout.
- Drive projects forward in ambiguous situations with evolving requirements and unexpected system failures.
- Deploy solutions across cloud, VPC, and on-prem environments, managing security, networking, and compliance.
- Diagnose and resolve integration failures, performance bottlenecks, and deployment issues.
- Identify new use cases and prototype solutions to deepen customer adoption and value.
- Translate customer feedback into actionable insights for engineering and product teams.
- Develop repeatable playbooks, templates, and reference architectures from one-off solutions.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience building and operating production software systems.
- Strong backend engineering fundamentals and a track record of delivering reliable systems.
- Experience integrating APIs and distributed services into real-world infrastructure.
- Comfort operating across cloud and containerized environments (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes).
- Experience navigating enterprise constraints such as authentication, networking, observability, and security reviews.
- Ability to define structure for ambiguous problems and drive them to resolution.
- High ownership and bias for action.
- Clear, structured communication skills for engaging with senior technical stakeholders.
