Braintrust is seeking a product engineer passionate about building tools that users love and use every day. In this role, you will work on the core product, engage with users (developers, product managers, and designers in AI), and significantly influence the product roadmap. The Braintrust platform is a high-performance, local-first, visualization-heavy UI built with modern Typescript and React, designed for users at leading technology companies who expect a fast, reliable, and intuitive experience.
Responsibilities
- Ensure customers have a frictionless experience enabling AI observability in their systems.
- Contribute to foundation UI architecture focused on performance and efficient data loading.
- Build user-facing features including a prompt playground supporting multiple models, a system for prompt management and versioned comparisons, a scalable human review system, and LLM output analysis tools.
- Analyze and compare LLM outputs across large datasets.
Requirements
- Expert-level understanding of Typescript, React, HTML, CSS, SQL, and NextJS.
- Experience founding or working at startups is a plus.
- Experience writing prompts or tinkering with GPT models and applications.
