Baseten is seeking a dedicated Workday Analyst to manage and optimize their in-house people systems. This is a unique opportunity to join during the Workday implementation phase, work alongside a deployment partner, and take full ownership of the tenant from go-live onwards. The role involves hands-on configuration, including building business processes, managing security, loading data, and testing releases. You will also be responsible for training other members of the People team as the company grows. This position is ideal for someone who wants to shape a Workday environment from its inception rather than inheriting an existing setup.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day Workday configuration, including business processes, security, custom reports, calculated fields, and tenant settings.
- Build and execute EIB loads for data changes, mass updates, and audits.
- Oversee the Workday release cycle, evaluating new features, performing regression testing, and deploying changes.
- Transition from shadowing the implementation build to owning the tenant post-go-live.
- Monitor integrations and collaborate with IT and vendors to resolve issues.
- Support payroll configuration in partnership with the Accounting team and payroll services provider.
- Address system requests from employees, managers, and the People team.
- Mentor teammates to develop Workday administration as a team capability.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience administering a live Workday tenant as a customer-side employee (not consulting).
- In-depth knowledge of Workday HCM core functionalities, including business process configuration, security administration, and Report Writer.
- Proficiency with EIBs and experience managing data loads from start to finish.
- Proven experience managing multiple Workday releases and conducting thorough testing.
- A hands-on approach to configuration and a preference for doing the work directly.
- Strong written communication skills for documentation and change notes.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- A proactive mindset focused on improving existing processes rather than simply reusing them.
- Interest in leveraging AI tools to enhance Workday administration.
