Baseten powers mission-critical inference for leading AI companies by uniting applied AI research, flexible infrastructure, and seamless developer tooling. We are seeking a high-performing strategic finance professional to join our growing Product Finance team. In this builder role, you will own the economics of our fast-evolving Training business and new product lines from inception to scale. You will partner directly with Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, and GTM leadership on critical pricing, margin, and capacity decisions that shape each business. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with 5-8 years of experience in strategic finance, investing, or investment banking who desires broad exposure to company-building within a rapidly scaling AI infrastructure company.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain cost-to-serve models for Training engagements (compute, delivery time, capacity).
- Own Training pricing and recommend structures for committed, usage-based, and packaged offerings.
- Track training capacity utilization and align capacity plans with pipeline.
- Conduct monthly Training business reviews covering bookings, utilization, margin, pipeline, and trends.
- Own the Training forecast and annual plan, including compute needs, unit costs, and multi-year P&L.
- Partner with Product on new products from concept to launch, developing business cases, cost-to-serve views, and go/no-go recommendations.
- Set launch pricing and packaging for new products.
- Define success metrics and scale criteria for new product launches.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
- 5+ years of experience in strategic finance at a high-growth company, PE/VC investing, and/or investment banking.
- Excellent financial modeling and analytical skills, including building unit economics or cost-to-serve models.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear executive recommendations.
- Comfortable building from scratch and making decisions with incomplete data in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a bias toward ownership and execution.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- High intellectual curiosity and interest in AI, infrastructure, or developer tooling.
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills.
- Familiarity with SQL or BI tools is a plus.
