Baseten powers mission-critical inference for leading AI companies, enabling them to bring cutting-edge models into production. We are seeking a Solutions Architect to partner closely with Sales and customers, translating business needs into technical solutions and guiding deployments. This role is ideal for entrepreneurial, customer-facing technical professionals who want to understand how modern companies adopt AI at scale and enjoy working across technical discovery, solution design, and customer implementations.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Sales on customer discovery calls.
- Lead demos and technical scoping to align on success criteria, architecture, and deployment approach.
- Own benchmarking and repeatable deployments across various AI modalities (LLMs, embeddings, image/video generation, Voice AI).
- Advise on infrastructure tradeoffs (e.g., GPU selection, latency vs. throughput).
- Drive consistent deployment patterns for common models and use cases.
- Become a power user of different runtimes (e.g., vLLM, SGLang, TRT-LLM).
- Drive POC and project execution, including scoping, stakeholder alignment, and acting as a project manager.
- Pull in Forward Deployed Engineering support when needed.
Requirements
- AI/ML background with the ability to discuss AI/ML topics credibly with technical stakeholders.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills, including running structured discovery and clarifying ambiguous requirements.
- Technical depth to scope solutions without writing production code.
- Ability to script and prototype as needed, including comfort with rapid technical workflows.
