About the job

Commure is building the AI Operating System for healthcare, aiming to transform the industry's significant administrative burden. Our platform integrates Ambient AI, intelligent Agents, and autonomous RCM processing to streamline care delivery, documentation, and financing. We are at the forefront of this transformation, with a platform trusted by numerous clinicians nationwide to handle billions in claims and millions of patient interactions. Our recent funding and industry recognition underscore our impact and the confidence in our mission. We offer a fast-paced environment where your work directly impacts patient care, and we value ownership, high standards, and tackling challenging problems.

Responsibilities

  • Set the technical direction for the biller-workflow platform, including frontend and backend architecture, and drive its adoption across the RCM engineering organization.
  • Establish standards and patterns for component architecture, design systems, data fetching, API contracts, testing, and observability to ensure consistency and performance across a large, multi-team frontend.
  • Lead complex cross-cutting problems end-to-end, collaborating with owning teams on challenges like data-dense tables at scale, idempotent bulk operations, unified claim activity timelines, and embedding AI for friction reduction.
  • Ensure engineering excellence through architecture reviews, in-depth code reviews, and mentorship to elevate engineers beyond your immediate team.
  • Own production reliability and performance for key surfaces, focusing on render and query performance, replica-lag handling, and claim-submission pipeline health.
  • Partner with product, design, and billing operations to translate complex billing workflows into software solutions with rapid feedback loops.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience building large-scale, full-stack applications, with a proven ability to set technical direction and elevate standards across multiple teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in organization-wide frontend leadership, including orchestrating design system adoption, establishing best practices, and ensuring engineering excellence across contributing teams.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving React rendering bottlenecks in complex, data-dense UIs.
  • Strong API and data-layer design skills, including setting conventions for REST endpoints and optimizing queries for large datasets.
  • A track record of leading multi-month, multi-team initiatives, such as large migrations or platform rebuilds, with successful incremental delivery.
  • Ability to act as a force multiplier by defining conventions, conducting broad reviews, and mentoring engineers across teams.
  • Strong debugging and observability instincts, including best practices for monitoring, logging, and alerting.
  • Excellent communication skills to align leadership and engineering teams around technical direction.
  • An ownership mindset and a strong bias for action, with experience driving ambiguous work to completion in unstructured environments.
  • Deep expertise in TypeScript/React, Python, and PostgreSQL.
