Commure is building the AI Operating System for healthcare, transforming administrative burdens with an AI-native platform. This role focuses on developing a next-generation ambient AI platform that helps clinicians by automatically capturing, understanding, and structuring clinical conversations in real-time. The platform supports clinicians across the full care workflow, from capturing conversations to coordinating follow-up actions via mobile and web applications. The Full-Stack Product Engineer will build these end-to-end experiences, working across mobile and web applications, backend services, APIs, and AI-powered workflows, in close partnership with product, design, clinical, and AI teams. This position is ideal for an engineer who prioritizes user experience, intuitiveness, responsiveness, trustworthiness, and value in a clinical setting, and is comfortable tackling problems across the entire technology stack.
Responsibilities
- Build and own high-impact product experiences from exploration through launch and iteration.
- Develop new workflows for AI-native healthcare software, including real-time transcription, ambient documentation, AI-assisted review, multimodal inputs, agentic actions, collaborative workflows, and offline experiences.
- Work across mobile, web, backend services, and APIs to deliver cohesive end-to-end experiences.
- Partner with clinicians, product managers, and designers to understand problems and translate them into products.
- Collaborate with AI engineers to integrate model capabilities into production.
- Design data models, APIs, and service boundaries for fast iteration and reliable user experiences.
- Build polished interfaces for Flutter mobile applications and web-based surfaces.
- Own the quality of shipped features, including usability, performance, accessibility, analytics, testing, observability, and release readiness.
- Improve shared systems and product foundations for faster and better development.
- Prototype quickly, learn from usage, and refine experiences based on feedback.
- Help shape product and technical strategy for the Ambient AI product line.
- Mentor other engineers and elevate engineering quality, product thinking, and craft.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software development experience with significant ownership of user-facing products or features.
- Strong experience building applications across multiple stack parts (mobile/web clients, backend services, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure).
- Track record of taking ambiguous product ideas through technical design, implementation, launch, and iteration.
- Strong product judgment and attention to interaction quality, usability, performance, and craft.
- Experience building polished frontend experiences with a modern mobile or web framework.
- Experience designing and operating backend services, APIs, and data models in production.
- Comfort moving through the stack to solve the most important product or user problem.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, testing, observability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Experience collaborating closely with product, design, backend, data, or AI teams.
- Understanding that reliability, latency, and data integrity are fundamental to user experience.
- Ownership mindset and bias for action.
