Assort Health is building a continuous conversation for every patient, an AI agent that remembers patient context and carries it through their healthcare journey. The company has developed a large proprietary dataset in healthcare, experienced significant growth, and secured substantial funding. They are seeking driven, product-minded engineering interns to join their team at an exciting stage. Interns will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge generative AI and voice/transcription models, working on meaningful projects from zero to one in a dynamic startup environment. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on making healthcare administration more efficient.
Responsibilities
- Build features and products from the ground up in collaboration with the engineering team.
- Own a scoped project from initial design through implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Apply generative AI and voice/transcription technologies to solve problems for healthcare professionals.
- Participate in product, design, and development discussions.
- Incorporate feedback from healthcare professionals into product improvements.
- Develop secure, scalable software that meets HIPAA compliance and security requirements.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field.
- Strong engineering fundamentals and experience building software.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills and comfort working through ambiguity.
- Willingness to take on multiple responsibilities, including user needs assessment, feature design, coding, testing, and debugging.
- Curiosity, openness to feedback, and a willingness to learn through rapid iteration and experimentation.
- Bonus points for experience with React, TypeScript, Go, building/deploying AI/LLM applications, evaluation frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, or prompt engineering.
