Artos is seeking a talented, startup-minded engineer to accelerate the development of their R&D documentation platform for biopharma companies. As a core member of the engineering team, you will play a critical role in building, scaling, and expanding the Artos platform. You will work across the full stack, developing intuitive product experiences, robust backend systems, and AI-powered workflows that help life sciences companies bring life-saving treatments to patients faster. This role offers meaningful ownership over both the product and the technology, working on challenging problems at the intersection of AI, enterprise software, and life sciences.
Responsibilities
- Own and build product features end-to-end, from frontend interfaces to backend services, APIs, data models, and production deployment.
- Design and build reliable, performant, and scalable systems for complex, document-heavy enterprise workflows.
- Develop AI-native product experiences for generating, reviewing, validating, and interacting with AI-generated scientific and regulatory content.
- Collaborate with product, design, AI, and customer-facing teams to translate customer problems into high-quality software.
- Make pragmatic technical and architectural decisions, improve the platform as it scales, and take responsibility for work from concept through production.
- Contribute to determining what should be built in an environment where requirements evolve and problems are not always clearly defined.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production web applications.
- Strong experience building backend services and APIs using Python, Node.js, or similar technologies.
- Ability to contribute across the stack using technologies such as React and TypeScript.
- Solid understanding of application architecture, API design, databases, testing, and fundamentals for building reliable production systems.
- Experience building complex, data-intensive product experiences and integrating frontend applications with backend services.
- Strong product judgment and ability to simplify complex technical or business workflows into intuitive software.
- Comfortable debugging unfamiliar systems and making sound technical decisions without perfect specifications.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, effective in a fast-moving startup environment.
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
