Applied Intuition is seeking a Software Engineer to join their Insights Platform team. This role involves building the data and analytics layer for physical AI development tooling, covering the full stack from data ingestion and query infrastructure to data discoverability, dataset management, and next-generation agentic analytics. You will contribute to a platform that provides autonomy engineers with visibility and control over their data, enabling quick analysis and operationalization. This is a high-ownership position where your architectural decisions will significantly shape the platform's future, serving engineers at leading autonomous vehicle programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data ingestion and reliability systems for diverse upstream sources.
- Enhance the query critical path infrastructure for latency, correctness, and stability.
- Build dashboarding and autonomy-native visualization tools, including domain-specific renderers.
- Architect and implement agentic analytics capabilities for natural language interaction.
- Develop systems for data discoverability and governance.
- Manage the dataset lifecycle to ensure data lakehouse health and performance.
- Create tools for data wrangling and transformation, enabling custom ETL flows within the product.
Requirements
- 3+ years of industry experience.
- Experience building production data infrastructure, platform engineering, or distributed systems.
- Experience with large-scale data processing and query execution at production scale.
- Strong backend engineering fundamentals including API design, service reliability, query optimization, distributed system trade-offs, and telemetry/monitoring.
- Familiarity with building for observability (metrics, alerting, operational health).
- Experience developing, testing, and shipping software with coding agents.
- Experience with data lakehouse architectures, table formats, or query federation is a strong plus.
- Comfort operating across the full stack, from storage and query engines to APIs and product-facing tooling.
- Bonus: Experience with LLM tool use, developing agentic workflows, or semantic layers for natural language interfaces.
- Bonus: Exposure to multimodal data, geospatial systems, or AV/robotics tooling.
