Applied Intuition is seeking a Sensor Fusion Engineer to join their UK Engineering team. This role is crucial for developing tracking, fusion, and state estimation capabilities for unmanned autonomous systems. You will be responsible for designing and building algorithms for single-agent and multi-target detection and tracking, as well as decentralized multi-agent, multi-target tracking for swarms. This position operates at the intersection of autonomy, robotics, perception, state estimation, and production software engineering, requiring close collaboration with various engineering teams to bring algorithms from concept to deployable software for real-world applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop tracking, fusion, and state estimation capabilities for unmanned autonomous systems.
- Design and build single-agent and multi-target detection and tracking algorithms.
- Design and build decentralized multi-agent, multi-target tracking algorithms for swarms of unmanned autonomous systems.
- Collaborate with autonomy engineers, software engineers, and cross-functional teams.
- Take algorithms from concept through to robust, deployable software for real-world autonomous systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related engineering field.
- 5+ years of experience developing tracking and fusion software for autonomous robotic systems.
- Experience processing sensor measurements from Optical Sensors, RF Sensors, Radar, and Lidar.
- Experience with classical state estimation and tracking techniques (e.g., Kalman Filters, Particle Filters).
- Experience with multi-target prediction and tracking for autonomous robotic systems.
- Experience with cross-platform sensor fusion.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python with strong procedural and object-oriented programming skills.
- Willingness to travel for company business between offices and to customer sites.
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a UK security clearance.
