About the job
Applied Intuition is seeking passionate Research Scientists to join its Research Group. The team focuses on creating cutting-edge technology for next-generation physical AI, specifically in end-to-end autonomous driving and robotic generalist applications. Researchers will leverage industry-leading tools and extensive data to develop and deploy methods into various autonomous and robotic systems, including self-driving cars, humanoid robots, and dexterous hands. The role offers opportunities to contribute to high-impact projects, publish research in top-tier conferences, and collaborate with experts in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. The company is open to candidates with all years of experience, provided they meet the necessary requirements, and may consider individuals with Tech Lead and Manager potential.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on pretraining world-action foundation models with various modalities (vision, physics, ego actions) for robot action and simulation world generation.
- Investigate topics such as vision-physics modality association, feed-forward Gaussian splatting, world foundation models, human data incorporation, language modality, spatial reasoning, deformable object modeling, and simulation.
- Explore related topics including 3D/world-action foundation models, multi-modal pretraining, feed-forward Gaussian splatting, and world foundation models applied to autonomous driving and 3D vision/generation.
- Collaborate with other Research Scientists and interns on research publications for submission to top-tier conferences.
- Work with Research Engineers and engineering teams to test and deploy algorithms into autonomy and simulation products.
Requirements
- Strong research record in 3D vision, reconstruction, and generation for robotics and autonomous systems, with publications in top-tier computer vision, machine learning, or robotics conferences/journals.
- MSc or PhD in machine learning, computer vision, with applications in autonomy and robotics, or closely related fields.
- 1+ year of research experience in autonomy, self-driving, robotics, or a related field.
- Passion for next-generation, scalable autonomy and robotics for real-world systems.
- Strong research skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Technical experience in Python, PyTorch, computer vision, robotics systems, and distributed machine learning model training.
