Applied Intuition is seeking a passionate Research Engineer to join its Research Group, focused on developing cutting-edge technology for next-generation physical AI, particularly in end-to-end autonomous driving and robotic generalist applications. This role offers the opportunity to work with leading experts, access industry-leading tools and data, and deploy developed methods into various autonomous systems. Researchers contribute to high-quality publications and collaborate with engineering teams to deploy algorithms for mass production vehicles and autonomy development tools. The company is open to all years of experience, provided the necessary requirements are met, and supports potential Tech Lead and Manager capacities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on 3D vision topics including 3D foundation models, multi-modal pretraining, Gaussian splatting, and world foundation models for autonomous driving.
- Collaborate with Research Scientists and interns on research publications for top-tier conferences.
- Work with engineering teams on ADAS, data, and simulation to deploy end-to-end algorithms for mass production vehicles.
- Contribute to neural simulation and generation for tools supporting autonomy development.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in 3D reconstruction with Gaussian splatting, 3D/multi-modal foundation models and pretraining, world foundation models and video generation, or 3D/multi-view end-to-end models for autonomous driving or robotics.
- Passion for next-generation, scalable autonomy and robotics for real-world systems.
- Strong engineering and research skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Technical experience in Python, Pytorch, computer vision, robotics systems, and distributed machine learning model training.
- Master's or PhD in machine learning and computer vision with autonomy and robotics applications or a closely related field.
- 1+ year of experience in autonomy and robotics applications or a closely related field.
