Anthropic is seeking a Technical Documentation and Content Engineer to own the documentation for Claude apps. This role involves more than traditional technical writing, focusing on unifying the documentation estate across multiple product surfaces. You will be responsible for the architecture, standards, and engineered systems that maintain high quality at scale. This is a content and systems ownership role where you will curate content, set quality bars, and build automation for review, maintenance, and quality enforcement. You will collaborate with engineers building documentation tooling.
Responsibilities
- Own the information architecture, style, and editorial standards of the Claude Docs site.
- Design, build, and run automated documentation systems, including self-healing pipelines and AI-assisted review.
- Establish conventions and tooling for product teams to maintain accurate and consistent documentation.
- Establish and maintain the style guide, content types, and workflows for documentation creation, review, and publishing.
- Curate contributions from across the company, editing for clarity, consistency, and relevance.
- Define and track content quality and discoverability metrics, using feedback and analytics to drive improvements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience at the intersection of documentation, user education, and software engineering.
- Knowledge of evaluation frameworks or observability for AI-powered systems.
- Experience guiding a documentation platform migration or redesign.
- Content analytics and experimentation experience.
- Proficiency in modern software development practices like version control, CI/CD, and testing.
- Excellent technical writing and editing skills to set and standardize high quality standards.
- Experience establishing editorial standards and information architecture for a substantial technical documentation site.
Benefits
- Annual compensation range: $270,000 - $320,000 USD
