Anthropic's Verticals team is building AI products tailored for specific industries like financial services, science, and healthcare, as well as broader enterprise applications. Many of these teams are in their early stages, offering a unique opportunity to shape both the product and its architecture. For established products, they are already in use by enterprise customers and experiencing rapid growth. As a Staff+ Software Engineer, you will be a technical leader responsible for the end-to-end customer experience, collaborating with research to productionize model capabilities, and taking ownership of product development.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical design and delivery of core components for vertical or enterprise AI products across the full stack.
- Collaborate with research teams to enhance model capabilities within your domain, including shaping evaluations and incorporating customer feedback.
- Partner with product, design, and go-to-market teams to translate enterprise customer workflows into shipped products.
- Establish technical direction and standards for your team, focusing on architecture, code quality, and development processes.
- Engage directly with enterprise customers and sales teams to gather insights and translate them into engineering priorities.
- Mentor other engineers and elevate the team's technical capabilities through influence.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a Staff or equivalent technical leadership role.
- Proven experience leading the design and delivery of complex enterprise or B2B products across the full stack.
- Experience building AI products and translating model capabilities into user-facing applications.
- Comfort working directly with enterprise customers and using their feedback to inform technical decisions.
- Experience building products from inception in fast-paced environments and setting technical direction with limited precedent.
- Ability to drive cross-team alignment and influence outcomes.
