About the job
Anthropic is building reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems to be safe and beneficial for users and society. We are a growing team of researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders. The GTM Systems team builds and operates the platform for Sales and contracting, handling production transactions and generating critical company data. We are seeking a technical lead to evolve this platform by establishing robust engineering practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and code review. This role involves leveraging Anthropic's frontier AI models as part of the daily toolkit, transforming individual usage into a coordinated engineering practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture reviews for GTM systems processing lead-to-cash transactions and generating organizational data.
- Architect and mature the team's engineering pipeline, including pull request workflow, CI/CD, automated UAT, and deployment.
- Establish AI-assisted development standards for the team, standardizing existing individual AI tool usage.
- Collaborate with external engineering teams on shared architectural problems and common tooling.
- Build and shape agentic tooling on top of the platform, setting patterns for future development.
- Analyze dependency chains from upstream and downstream systems to ensure design decisions consider impacts.
- Partner with platform developers to deepen engineering practices and expand safe deployment capabilities.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals: version control, testing, code review, deployment automation, and simple designs.
- Experience building a team's delivery pipeline, not just working within one.
- Proven ability to lead a team through a significant change in engineering practice as scope grew.
- Fluency with AI coding tools and agentic development workflows, with experience standardizing team usage.
- Ability to lead technical discussions across teams to reach decisions.
- Capacity to reason about external systems to predict the impact of changes.
- Preference for influencing through demonstrated work over positional authority.
Benefits
- Annual compensation range: $320,000 - $405,000 USD
- Visa sponsorship available
- Hybrid work policy (minimum 25% in office)
