Anthropic is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to build the technical foundation for how the company educates customers and enterprises at scale, using AI as the delivery mechanism. This role will define how millions of people experience learning about Claude, including real-time content adaptation, responsive assessments, credentialing systems, and platform evolution. You will build the infrastructure for AI-native education, owning the technical vision for the platform layer, enterprise readiness features, data architecture, AI-augmented pipelines, integrations, and delivery systems. You will collaborate with educational experts to deliver scalable educational experiences and build AI-augmented pipelines that amplify the reach and responsiveness of a small team. This is an engineering role for someone passionate about learning, requiring judgment to make educational platform decisions and close collaboration with security, infrastructure, data, GTM, devrel, and education teams.
Responsibilities
- Architect and own Anthropic’s enterprise-ready education platform and infrastructure, including authentication/SSO, learner data models, content delivery, credentialing, and progress tracking, designed for scale, AI-forward features, and reliability.
- Own the technical vision for delivering AI-driven educational experiences, determining what to build, extend, or replace as needs evolve.
- Build AI-augmented pipelines for content generation, real-time adaptation, assessment delivery, and quality assurance, collaborating with the education team on pedagogical requirements.
- Design platform capabilities for new learning experiences, such as adaptive paths, competency-based progression, and AI-evaluated skill demonstrations.
- Interface with security, infrastructure, and data teams to ensure education systems meet organizational standards and integrate with existing architecture.
- Build platform abstractions enabling non-engineers to configure, extend, and experiment with educational experiences.
- Make product-level decisions shaping the learning experience, not just serving it.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, with demonstrated ability to take a platform from zero to production at scale.
- Genuine passion for education and strong opinions on AI-native educational technology.
- A strong eye for quality educational content and the complex systems that produce it.
- Full-stack engineering skills with particular strength in backend systems: databases, APIs, authentication, reliability, and infrastructure.
- Experience building and operating platforms that serve many concurrent users reliably.
- Comfort with ambiguity and ownership, translating pedagogical intent into technical architecture without heavy specification.
- Experience interfacing with security and infrastructure teams to meet organizational requirements while maintaining development velocity.
- A working practice of using AI tools in engineering workflows and curiosity about AI's impact on educational platforms.
