The Claude Science team is building an AI workbench that integrates tools for literature review, scientific databases, computation, analysis, and publication into a single environment. This role offers the opportunity to shape a new product category from its inception, impacting scientific discovery across biology, chemistry, and physics. You will be a technical leader focused on the end-to-end researcher experience, collaborating with internal research teams to advance model capabilities and drive product development.
Responsibilities
- Ship products based on a roadmap that you help define.
- Engage directly with scientists to understand their needs and translate them into engineering priorities.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to develop features that support the scientific workflow from hypothesis to publication.
- Work with research teams to enhance model performance in scientific tasks, including shaping evaluations and providing user feedback for model development.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- 2+ years of experience at a Staff or equivalent technical leadership level.
- Experience building products from scratch in fast-paced environments.
- Experience building AI products and translating model capabilities into usable applications.
- Comfort working directly with technical domain experts and synthesizing their feedback.
- Ability to drive cross-team alignment and influence without direct authority.
Benefits
- Annual compensation range: $405,000 - $485,000 USD
