Anthropic is seeking a Senior Manager, Cash Application to lead the cash application function within the Invoice to Cash (I2C) organization. This role involves full ownership of the team, daily operations, KPI and SLA reporting, and processes, with minimal oversight. The primary goal is to scale the cash application function efficiently through automation, aiming for a largely touchless operation. You will drive the automation roadmap, develop a high-performing team focused on exceptions, and ensure processes and policies remain current with evolving payment methods and systems. This is a leadership role for someone experienced in scaling AR operations through automation during rapid growth.
Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the global cash application function, including daily operations, team output, systems, controls, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Build and manage a high-leverage team focused on exceptions, defining roles, skills, and regional coverage.
- Coach, mentor, and manage the performance of Cash Application Specialists and contractors, setting targets and developing growth paths.
- Develop a team lead capable of managing daily operations in your absence.
- Establish and manage the team's operating cadence, including work allocation, queue management, escalation paths, and coverage.
- Own and drive the cash application automation roadmap, focusing on auto-match rules, remittance capture, exception routing, and ERP posting.
- Serve as the business owner of the AR automation platform, partnering with relevant teams and vendors for enhancements.
- Champion Claude adoption within the team to reduce manual work and improve efficiency.
- Set and track automation and leverage targets for the function, reporting progress against them.
- Define, evaluate, and refine KPIs and SLAs for the function, including application rates, cash balances, and exception resolution times.
- Build and maintain performance dashboards and publish regular reports to leadership.
- Utilize data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and provide recommendations for automation investments and staffing.
- Implement a structured root-cause program for unapplied cash and drive upstream fixes.
- Maintain cash application policies, procedures, and internal controls, proactively updating them as needed.
Requirements
- Experience scaling a cash application or AR operations function through rapid growth by automating it.
- Experience in building and managing a team focused on exceptions rather than transaction volume.
- Experience with AR automation platforms.
- Familiarity with AI tools like Claude for process improvement.
- Strong data analysis skills to identify trends and provide recommendations.
- Experience in defining and tracking KPIs and SLAs.
- Experience in maintaining policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Ability to partner with cross-functional teams including Finance Systems, Treasury, Billing, Collections, and Go-to-Market.
