Responsibilities
- Rapidly prototype full-stack applications showcasing AI capabilities, shipping early and often.
- Collaborate with research teams to translate new model capabilities into user experiences.
- Gather feedback from users and partners to iterate on and validate product concepts.
- Design and run experiments to test hypotheses, balancing exploration with evaluation.
- Generate documentation and insights to guide prototypes toward full product teams.
- Advocate for user experience and product considerations early in the research process.
- Provide feedback to research teams on model effectiveness and areas for improvement.
- Flexibly contribute across Labs initiatives based on organizational priorities and opportunities.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building full-stack applications, with a track record of zero-to-one work in startup environments.
- Comfort with ambiguity and uncertainty, and energized by fast-paced building.
- High agency, bias toward shipping, and comfort with technical debt tradeoffs.
- Deeply user-centric approach, validating ideas with users before over-investing.
- Ability to articulate learnings from failed projects without defensiveness.
- Strong opinions held loosely, with a willingness to change mind based on evidence.
- Generalist ability to transition between different problem spaces.
- Independent work with good judgment, requiring minimal direction.
- Strong technical skills in modern web development stacks (e.g., React, Node.js, Python), APIs, databases, and cloud technologies.
- Effective communication skills to translate complex AI capabilities into intuitive experiences.
- Care about the societal impacts and ethics of AI work.
