  • Advise on policy enforcement frameworks, including account actions, appeals, and enforcement systems.
  • Counsel on sensitive escalations and strategic responses involving governments, law enforcement, regulators, and the press.
  • Advise on threat intelligence investigations, bug bounty programs, red-team exercises, and safety/security testing.
  • Support engineering, ML, and data science teams in developing new tooling and detection mechanisms, considering data governance and privacy.
  • Serve as the first-line legal contact for safety and security incidents, providing real-time guidance and assessing notification obligations.
  • Develop crisis management playbooks, escalation protocols, and self-serve legal guidance.
  • Monitor and translate AI safety, security, and policy developments into practical guidance for product evolution.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • Legal experience with fast-moving, high-stakes matters such as investigations, regulatory issues, crisis management, or enforcement.
  • Working knowledge of trust & safety, cybersecurity, privacy, or platform regulation, with the ability to quickly learn new areas.
  • Sufficient technical fluency to understand system architecture, data flows, and AI model behavior, with a curiosity for new concepts.
  • Legal writing and drafting skills to produce policy language, escalation protocols, crisis playbooks, and self-serve guidance for non-legal audiences.
  • Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder responses to time-sensitive matters and translating legal analysis into actionable steps.
  • Strong judgment for risk assessment and decision-making under uncertainty.
