As a Safeguards Enforcement Analyst on the account abuse team, you will build and execute enforcement workflows to ensure product safety, with a primary focus on detecting and mitigating potential harm. Your responsibilities will include driving enforcement in areas such as access controls and identity verification, owning the policy layer for these systems, and determining user requirements for verification. This role operates at the intersection of policy, operations, and regulatory exposure, with potential to expand into broader enforcement areas over time. You will play a key role in shaping policy enforcement to enable users to safely interact with and build upon our products in a harmless, helpful, and honest manner.
Responsibilities
- Define collection policy for identity signals, including what data is requested, under which enforcement states, and what evidence reinstates access.
- Enhance the accuracy, appeal coverage, and consistency of outcomes within the verification program.
- Manage access policy for complex cases, such as geographic restrictions and reseller arrangements.
- Oversee the operational queue for access-control cases, including authoring playbooks and quality assurance of scaled review output, with support from contractors.
- Collaborate with Legal, Public Policy, and Privacy teams to ensure approaches are proportionate, privacy-preserving, and responsive to regulatory changes.
- Coordinate enforcement consistency with third-party platform partners.
- Stay informed about emerging best practices in AI policy enforcement and apply them to decision-making and workflows.
- Implement graduated enforcement practices, including verification requests, conditional reinstatement, and appeal pathways that meet regulatory requirements for automated decisions.
Requirements
- Experience in trust & safety, integrity, or risk policy work.
- Hands-on operational experience managing or quality-checking live enforcement queues.
- Subject matter expertise in KYC, identity verification, age or identity assurance, or verification program operations.
- Experience navigating evolving regulatory landscapes (e.g., DSA, GDPR) as design constraints.
- Proven ability to drive cross-functional initiatives with Product, Engineering, Legal, and Policy teams, balancing safety, privacy, and usability.
- Proficiency in using data (e.g., SQL) for measurement and decision-making.
- Strong written communication skills, with experience producing clear briefs and recommendations for diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent judgment and the ability to make consistent, defensible decisions in ambiguous situations.
