This role is part of the Research Operations team, which provides the crucial organizational structure and support behind frontier research. You will embed with the leadership of the Reinforcement Learning (RL) organization, a team focused on training Claude to be more capable, reliable, and aligned. Your primary goal will be to shape leadership's priorities, ensure timely decision-making, and remove obstacles so researchers can focus on their core work. This is a high-leverage function essential for keeping hundreds of researchers moving effectively.
Responsibilities
- Manage leadership's time by setting agendas and prioritizing critical tasks.
- Triage incoming requests, resolving what you can and routing or escalating the rest.
- Facilitate swift decision-making and track commitments to completion.
- Proactively identify and address potential blockers such as resourcing gaps or technical bottlenecks.
- Draft and disseminate organizational communications and materials.
- Identify and help resolve recurring operational friction points.
- Serve as a thought partner, offering candid counsel and strategic guidance to leaders.
Requirements

- Technical fluency to engage substantively with researchers on topics like RL training and evaluation results.
- Ability to translate complex, jargon-heavy material into clear, actionable summaries.
- An eye for improving data visualizations and dashboards for clarity.
- Strong follow-through and meticulous attention to detail.
- Skill in providing strategic guidance and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
- Experience in operations, chief of staff, or program management supporting senior leaders in technical organizations.
- High integrity and a commitment to making sound decisions aligned with the mission.
Benefits
- Annual compensation range: $210,000 - $260,000 USD
