Anthropic's New Markets and Monetization team is dedicated to bringing transformational AI to every business through the Claude Platform. This team focuses on two key pillars: identifying and building for new API markets (Verticals) and establishing the commercial infrastructure for the platform to do business globally (Monetization). As a founding product manager on this team, you will own a significant area, working closely with engineering and design leads. You will be responsible for defining problems and shaping the future of how businesses integrate and benefit from frontier AI, with your success measured against company-level goals.
Responsibilities
- Define and build partner and platform billing systems, including metering, attribution, and program terms for indirect volume growth.
- Develop spend observability and controls for enterprise buyers, providing precise views of spending and enabling enforcement of limits.
- Create a unified account and billing experience for API and Claude subscriptions, simplifying the builder's journey from first commit to first invoice.
- Develop platform strategies for specific industries, identifying unmet needs and betting on new features to be shipped with vertical-specific product and go-to-market partners.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Billing Platform, Auth & Identity, Growth, Legal, Finance, Data Science) and external stakeholders (enterprise buyers, startups, partners, industry customers) to define roadmaps and enhance platform value.
- Structure commercial terms, including pricing, revenue attribution, and partner/startup program terms.
- Own and drive key outcome metrics such as platform business share outside coding, new startup revenue, and unified volume across API and subscriptions.
- Write strategy documents, specifications, and analysis for product initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience owning a developer platform, API, billing, money-movement, or self-serve growth product end-to-end, with accountability for revenue or activation.
- Experience building with or shipping on large language models, with an understanding of how billing, identity, or distribution changes when agents are customers.
- Technical fluency, including reading API documentation, collaborating on billing/identity/attribution designs, and making decisions on platform primitives.
- Proficiency in SQL or equivalent for data analysis, metric definition, funnel building, and market sizing.
- Experience negotiating pricing, revenue share, or program terms with Finance, Legal, or Business Development.
- Strong written communication skills to articulate tradeoffs to engineers, executives, and external partners.
- Alignment with Anthropic's mission and a commitment to growing the platform in a way that shares upside with builders.
