About the job
Anthropic is building reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems to be safe and beneficial for users and society. As a Product Manager focused on Enterprise Privacy, you will collaborate with various teams including Privacy Engineering, Infrastructure, Trust and Safety, Legal, Security, GTM, and cloud partners. Your role will be to evolve and extend the controls that enterprises, regulated industries, and governments need to bring their sensitive work to Claude. You will synthesize complex business needs and partner with teams responsible for retaining, protecting, and governing customer data across Anthropic's platform and cloud offerings, ensuring privacy guarantees are enforced and verifiable by customers. This high-visibility role involves building the product surface for customers to understand, govern, and verify controls like retention, access, logging, key management, data residency, and user interfaces, ultimately earning customer trust.
Responsibilities
- Understand the data handling requirements of external customers (e.g., CISOs, compliance teams, auditors) and internal stakeholders.
- Partner with Privacy Engineering to deliver controls that enable regulated customers, balancing impact and engineering cost.
- Co-develop solutions with design partners and their compliance teams to ensure shipped changes pass real audits.
- Influence architecture and investment decisions with a long-term view, considering build vs. buy vs. cloud provider reliance, and sequencing controls across clouds.
- Define success metrics for privacy controls, focusing on preventing incidents and enabling customer data verification.
- Define and iterate on self-serve user experiences for compliance and security teams to check organizational posture, settings, and access history.
- Gather and assess competing stakeholder needs, clearly communicating prioritization trade-offs between privacy risk, safety, legal exposure, and commercial impact.
- Own customer communications when issues arise.
- Collaborate with engineering leads to define how retention, access, residency, and custody controls are enforced by the infrastructure.
Requirements
- Experience taking a new product area from ambiguity to a durable roadmap and shipping enterprise-grade controls.
- Proven track record of driving platform capabilities that balance the needs of multiple customer segments and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated judgment in making prioritization trade-offs between customer demand, risk, and engineering cost, with clear communication skills.
- Ability to internalize the interplay of privacy, safety, legal risk, and commercial impact, translating it into a product vision.
- Experience building collaborative relationships with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders, with credibility in design feedback, negotiation, and risk communication.
